Philosophy
Our philosophy is child-led, play-based, and rooted in outdoor immersion. We are influenced by the Waldorf, Montessori and Reggio philosophies.
Location
BC is a home-based childcare program in the BWI area, on 0.25 acres.
Curriculum
Our curriculum blends Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, and Charlotte Mason principles to create a warm, hands-on, and deeply engaging learning environment. Each day offers meaningful, child-led exploration supported by intentional guidance, ensuring every child grows through curiosity, creativity, and real-world experiences.
Hours and Services Provided
We serve children aged 0 and older, in a mixed age group. Preschool aged children in our care engage in an immersive outdoor educational experience. We offer care between 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM (hours can be extended). We currently offer a student-to-teacher ratio of 4:1. We also offer lunch and dinner for our parents as well.

FAQs
How do I reserve a spot?
Please complete our reservation form to receive priority attention from our staff. Make sure you check spot availability before you fill out the form.
How do I start the free 1-week trial?
Once we contact you, we’ll conduct a brief qualification process to determine if our services are a good fit for your needs. If approved, a refundable deposit will be required to begin your one-week free trial.
How do I continue services after the trial?
During the trial period, you’ll have the opportunity to review our contracts, terms, and conditions. At the end of the trial week, contracts must be signed and payment must be submitted to secure your spot and continue with our services.
What if I want to cancel services?
No problem, you can cancel services at any time. We will refund your money for the unused time, and your deposit will be returned.
How come you don’t show the facility address?
We take careful consideration for the safety of all of our children, therefore we committed to performing due diligence to identify who we are talking to before disclosing location. However, the address shown here is nearby.
I have special requirements due to my job. How do you meet them?
All of our staff members are US citizens only, and have undergone rigorous state and national run background checks, including the FBI. If you have other requirements, please contact us to discuss how we can meet them.
Your childcare rate is a lot higher than others. Why do you charge so much?
Our rates might be higher than many family in-home providers, but that comes with added value. We offer quality and convenience, with lower teacher turnover, aiming to provide the best value in the industry. Think about it this way: it is $17 an hour for certified professional childcare; is it really that expensive?
We also provide a 1-week free trial.
How does the discount program work?
We help you navigate the state scholarship program and other subsidy programs to supplement the costs. We also have a referral program that you can leverage to help us in our business. If you want to know more, please contact us and we’ll be glad to provide the details.
Do you have financing options, grants, or assistance with state program applications?
We normally charge a monthly subscription, but we can make exceptions if it is convenient for the parent. Maryland provides grants to childcare businesses, but as of 2024, the grant money pool has run out. The plan is to leverage this grant money in future to pass some of it back to the parents. As mentioned above, we provide guided assistance with filling out scholarship programs.
What is the plan for unvaccinated kids? Will they be segregated?
We accept unvaccinated families, and they will integrate into normal activities with the rest of the children. Parents from unvaccinated families will need to fill out consent forms prior to starting childcare, per Maryland State COMAR standards.
